The Disney Park is home to several table service restaurants that all feature unique themes and menus that immerse Guests in the stories being told. While they all offer a fun experience, some are better than others. The Hollywood Brown Derby
Coming in at the top of the list is The Hollywood Brown Derby found on Hollywood Boulevard. This popular table service restaurant is modeled after the famous location of the same name in California and brings an art deco, upscale atmosphere to life. The interior is filled with caricatures of famous Hollywood icons and small details including gold lights shaped like derby hats bring the space to life.
The menu at The Hollywood Brown Derby focuses on contemporary American cuisine and Guests can enjoy seasonal offerings in addition to options such as Shrimp Cocktail, Filet Mignon, and Pan-roasted Halibut. The restaurant also features some iconic menu options that Guests love to try including Our Famous Cobb Salad and the unique Grapefruit Cake dessert.

Roundup Rodeo BBQ
Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios brings Andy’s backyard to life and Guests can enjoy a unique table service meal as well. Roundup Rodeo BBQ brings a vibrant and western-themed atmosphere to life as Guests magically shrink to the size of toys. Surrounded by favorite characters in all sorts of fun playsets and displays, Guests truly feel like one of Woody’s gang when servers suddenly yell out “Andy’s coming!” and everyone freezes!
The menu at Roundup Rodeo BBQ is a family-style feast of hearty barbecue items including Buttercup’s Beef Brisket, Evil Dr. Smoked Ribs, Cowpoke Corn on the Cob, and Slinky Doooooooooog’s Mac & Cheese. Guests who have dietary restrictions can also opt for Trixie’s Plant-based Trio family-style platter as well as sides that are plant-based including Potato Barrels and The Claw! Veggie Slaw.

50’s Prime Time Café
Guests who are looking to enjoy a truly immersive table service experience in Disney’s Hollywood Studios must check out the 50’s Prime Time Café. Located in Echo Lake, this restaurant transports Guests back in time to the 1950’s and invites them to enjoy a meal inside of a family home. All servers are cousins and remind Guests to finish their vegetables, keep their elbows off the tables, and have good manners throughout each meal. In addition to the banter and unique theming, Guests can enjoy clips of classic television shows from the 1950’s on various sets throughout the dining area!
The 50’s Prime Time Café features a menu that focuses on classic comfort food from the 1950’s with options that sound like they are straight from the pages of the family recipe book. Guests are sure to love digging into menu options such as Beer-battered Onion Rings, Aunt Liz’s Golden Fried Chicken, Mom’s Old-fashioned Pot Roast, and Dad’s Favorite Chocolate-Peanut Butter Layered Cake.

Hollywood & Vine
Found right next to the 50’s Prime Time Café is Hollywood & Vine, a table service restaurant that offers unique character interactions. The interior of the restaurant features a beautiful art deco theme with large windows looking out towards Echo Lake. Breakfast at Hollywood & Vine is the Disney Junior Play n’ Dine where Guests can meet favorite characters including Fancy Nancy, Doc McStuffins, and Vampirina. Lunch and dinner transform the space into Minnie’s Seasonal Dining where Guests can meet classic friends while enjoying themed parties like Halloween, Spring, and Christmas.

Hollywood & Vine is a popular choice for Guests in Disney’s Hollywood Studios thanks to its massive all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet. Centrally located so that Guests can easily always access it, the buffet offers up everything from breakfast pastries and eggs to a carving station, fresh fruit, salads, salmon, chicken, and more. Little ones will especially love the dessert area where there are plenty of small treats to choose from as well as self-serve ice cream.
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant
Coming in towards the bottom of the list is the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant. This ranking has more to do with the menu and less to do with the immersive theming. The interior of the restaurant transports Guests to a drive-in theater at nighttime where they can enjoy their meals in classic cars with small tables built right in. All the cars face a large screen that shows sci-fi clips and commercials from the 1950’s which is sure to entertain Guests of all ages.
The menu at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant focuses on American cuisine and isn’t necessarily bad, but also is not the best food you could find in the Disney Park. Some menu options include Crispy Onion Rings, Drive-in BBQ Burger, and Classic American Burger. This is a great example of “go for the theme, not the food.”
Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano
*Note that Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano will be permanently closing soon to make way for the new Monster’s Inc. area coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
At the very bottom of the ranking of table service restaurants in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano. This quirky restaurant brings the story of Mama Melrose to life, blending her roots from Italy with her career serving food on the backlot of a Hollywood studio. Guests can enjoy their meals amongst a combination of dried herbs and garlic, exposed brick, and vibrant memorabilia.
The menu at Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano unsurprisingly focuses on Italian food, and while it is not necessarily bad, there are so many other locations throughout Walt Disney World where Guests can enjoy much better authentic cuisine. That being said, some menu options at the restaurant include Fried Calamari, Mama’s Pasta with Shrimp, Spaghetti and Meatballs, and Oven-baked Chicken alla Parmigiana.
