Every attraction in Walt Disney World is completely unique with its own immersive story and experience. From the moment Guests enter the queues, they are transported into the experience and become a part of the story themselves. Some attractions even take this immersion to the next level with active participation from Guests, making them feel even more a part of the story. Let’s look at the attractions in Walt Disney World that ask Guests to interact and participate in the story.
The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
Found in Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin invites Guests to take to the skies for an unforgettable adventure. Each flying carpet circles around the Genie’s magic lamp and can be controlled in two ways by Guests. Those in the front seat can control the height of their carpet and those in the back seat can control the tilt forward or backward. These fun controls allow Guests of all ages to tailor the experience to their liking, either soaring as high as possible or being more cautious lower down.

Dumbo the Flying Elephant
Like The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Dumbo the Flying Elephant also gives Guests the chance to soar above the Magic Kingdom. Found in Storybook Circus, this attraction invites Guests of all ages to take to the skies with Dumbo and Timothy Mouse. Featuring only one bench per elephant, Guests can only control the height of their Dumbo, choosing to stay low down near the fountain below or soar high over the nearby circus tents.

Enchanted Tales with Belle
Over in Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom is a unique attraction that quite literally puts Guests in the middle of the story. Enchanted Tales with Belle magically transports Guests to the Beast’s castle where they are assigned roles and act out the story of the day that Belle fell in love with the Beast. Narrated by Lumiere and Belle, Guests partake in the story through various roles including guards, plates, the Beast and more.
Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor
Guests have the chance to use their funny bones over in Tomorrowland in an interactive show. Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor brings Guests into the city of Monstropolis where Mike, Sully, and friends are collecting laughs to power the city. While in line, Guests can submit jokes that might be features in the show, and once the curtain rises there are live monster acts that interact in real time with Guests. Be sure to be on the lookout for “That Guy” who always steals the show with their participation!

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
Right next to Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor is Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. This interactive attraction recruits Guests to help Buzz defeat the Evil Emperor Zurg by using blasters to hit targets and collect points and power throughout the galaxy. With the chance to compete with friends and family and lots of fun and moving targets along the way, this attraction is a favorite of many!
Spaceship Earth
Just inside of EPCOT is Spaceship Earth, the iconic structure that is home to an attraction of the same name. While most of the journey is passive as Guests learn about the history of communication, each Time Machine features a small interactive screen that Guests use twice. Once in the beginning of the attraction Guests select their home from a large map, and then at the end they answer a series of questions that create a unique cartoon glimpse into their future. This fun, interactive vignette is a great way to make unique memories in EPCOT!

Turtle Talk with Crush
The Seas with Nemo and Friends in EPCOT is home to Turtle Talk with Crush, an interactive show that Guests absolutely love. Featuring everyone’s favorite turtle, this show uses technology to allow Crush to interact in real time with Guests in the audience. These live interactions always lead to hilarious moments, especially when Crush interacts with younger Guests who are invited to sit up front.

Toy Story Mania
Moving over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Toy Story Mania is a very popular attraction that brings Guests into the world of Toy Story with a series of competitions. The attraction invites Guests to compete in a series of midway games with Woody and the gang by taking aim at targets and trying to rack up as many points as possible. With surprise responses from various targets and lots of fun along the way, Guests love to compete time and time again on Toy Story Mania!

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
Also found in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. This popular attraction in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge invites Guests to board the iconic Millennium Falcon and set off on a secret mission to smuggle goods for Hondo. The experience uses impressive technology that reacts and edits the story in real time depending on how Guests perform as gunners, engineers, and pilots. With live interaction, the mission can end differently every time, making Guests want to return over and over!
